I have been guilty of not being on lately. Pretty sure I was on some little kid shit, and made a ass out of myself. So I have been taking time for personal development, on top of trying to find a decent part time job. I will surely be on more as of now. I truly love this board and all of my brothers and sisters here. Actually, I am a member at a few other boards (friends of UM) but I don't log in or spend any time there. I would agree the forum world has gotten really thick out here, and keeping folks grounded to one spot maybe kinda hard. We do have something special here that Im sure you cant find anywhere else. One thing if not already done is send out a mass e-mail to anyone that is a member here, that hasn't checked in for a month or longer, asking them to come back and check us out. I don't really have any friends, and the few I have in the outside world aren't really into health and fitness. But maybe many of you that have buddies at the gym or work, get them to join up, and be a part of a great community. I used to be reserved with that, cause it opens the door for many to start asking about our AAS use, and many of you absolutely don't want that attention. Contest of all sorts would be great, with prizes like Chilis gift cards, some of that body wash from the sponsor here. Been meaning to try it myself, and would draw more bizz for them. The egg whites sponsor to. Contest should be or could be everything related to fitness and nutrition, etc. Personally, I would like to see a ton more of AAS discussion, like do's and donts, previous mistakes, best cycles ever, compound discussion of pros to cons. I think if we started talking a bunch about AAS is general along with meals, and nutrition this would round up a lot of new members.

The idea should be based on a points system... People that get new recruits get points, points for activity (reading and responding threads, posting regardless of the content).... Points for anything that generates activity, the highest points wins a free pass to Swinging Richards.
ghey - a way to take the guilt out of offending homosexuals by calling something unfavorable gay. since verbally, the new spelling is virtually unnoticeable, this rationale is rendered a waste of time, but as mentioned, it serves its purpose in the mind of the homophone-in-denial.

Well, I consider myself a newbie no matter what, because I know there are some of you who have been in the game for decades, and more who have been on the boards for ages too. Like said earlier, there are a metric shitton of boards to sift through, ESP when you're new to the game and don't know anyone. When I found UM, I liked it for a few reasons:

    -people aren't dicks
    -everyone is pretty friendly
-no one seems to care when you're the FNG around here as long as you don't act a fool
-when I ask questions, the quality of answers is great. The same questions on another board would generate a ton of shitty answers from dock heads usually.
-seems to be a lot of .mil vets on here, and I like seeing like minded patriots where I frequent.

i may not post a ton, but I've learned a ton from others on here.

things that I would like to see are:
-More auctions. When I first came here we had auctions and I liked those a lot. Seemed like a good concept, and was fun if you were one of the bidders.
-More contests. Not just for BB / gym stuff, but for anything. Just a fun feature for members.
-T Shirts. This has been talked about, but I've been gone for a bit, so maybe we have them and I just don't realize it yet. Unintended Consequences are a bunch of douchebags joining, but I trust that the staff will deal with that.

    other things I thought about:
-I'm real I to gun rights, and politics that deal with the 2nd Amendment. Some websites and activist groups have little business cards that you can hand out to people / slip under a windshield / whatever. Makes it easy to get the word out when you see someone like-minded or whatever. Just easy and convenient.
-send out the email reminder to those who haven't logged in in say 90 days or so.
    -Maybe expand the nutrition area
-most know what different AAS do, but some don't have much knowledge of pep***es, maybe get a sponsor to do a write up on them or something

anyways, don't mind my thoughts too much, as I've barely been on in months. Lost a bunch of motivation due to an injury, and had some other stressors going on. Anyways, gonna try to post more again

Some great feedback here. We will definitely take all of this into consideration. Personally I think I will start ramping up the contests. Contests are always fun for new members. Lets keep the feedback coming guys. Also I'd like to give a big thank you to Ude for caring enough to post this. It shows how much heart he has for U-M! Thank you brother!!!

I'm sorry, I've always been more of a lurker at times than a poster. I check in every day, just don't always post when I don't feel like there is anything I can add to a thread.
I've been around in one form or another since way back when SSB was the main place we all went. I've seen a lot of places come and go. Boards always have highs and lows in traffic, usually things will turn back around once everyone gets more time to come by.

One thing I've noticed is that I see threads fairly often encouraging members to go to other boards. I don't know if that has actually cannabilized any of our membership? I don't even go visit the other boards advertised, to be honest. I know you guys want to give props to your friends who are trying to open up new boards, but when I'm at work dealing with customers, I don't tell them about how they should visit my competition down the road.

Another thing, at least the US domestic guys don't seem to be posting much lately at all. Kinda makes one nervous to try to order from them if they are inactive. But why aren't these guys posting at all? Even just updates to let us know whether their list is still current or not, etc?

You could also, perhaps, recruit some of us who are more knowledgable in certain subjects to write little articles or threads about various topics related to training and such. Might get some discussion going.
